Adultification by Jamal Jackson

Adultification refers to the racial bias in which people perceive black children as older and less innocent than other children. Black boys can be seen as responsible for their actions at an age when most boys still benefit from the assumption that children are innocent. Adultification explores the joy we created by these young black children and juxtaposes it with the forced adulthood that is set upon them.
